Volunteers in Action

By Dave House, Middle School Director

VolunteersThe JAM Middle School Ministry program is a safe environment where kids can come, have fun, hang out with their friends and leaders, play some crazy games and hear age-appropriate teachings. During the middle school years, kids begin to explore their own faith and who they are becoming in Christ. I have termed middle school as the "last of the impressionable" years.

Working alongside parents to leave lasting Christ-like impressions can only be accomplished through caring, committed volunteers. One of those volunteers is Paul Koch. Paul's input in our Wednesday program has helped us reach out to twice as many kids and share the love of Jesus with them. Paul not only puts the time in behind the scenes to make each program night a success, Paul also is no stranger to fun. You can catch him in his famous ballerina dance at our week-long summer camp. He has been host to our American Idols series as well as one of this years top American Gladiators in our Wednesday night games. Paul has a gift to reach out to middle school kids right where they are and accept them for who they are. Paul has no fear of failing or looking silly when it comes to reaching our kids. He simply does whatever it takes.

Paul KochPaul has led small groups in the past and has been a key component in helping reach this generation of kids. He attends outreach events, fun nights and has helped in our Sunday School program. He can usually be found at most Middle School events right in the mix with all the kids. Paul's dedication and contribution to our ministry is priceless.

Paul manages to serve successfully in Middle School ministry in so many ways while juggling work, school and various other commitments. He enjoys spending time with his wife Jen, and their four children Paige, Sydney, Aaron and Elijah.

Thank you Paul for taking the time out of an already busy schedule to make a difference in the lives of the middle school kids and the adults you work alongside! You are a great example to our middle school kids of what it means to be a true servant of Christ.

1 Peter 5:2 "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve."
