Pastor Squires

Brent Squires

Pastor (Student Ministries)

Pastor Brent Squires has developed a simple - yet challenging - mission for himself as the leader of our Student Ministries: to help students develop passion for Jesus and compassion for others. With that twofold goal in mind, Pastor Brent makes sure our young people don't graduate from their faith when they graduate from our Student Ministries. He has a vision of bringing in students, building them up, equipping them, and then sending them back out - all for God's glory.

So great is his love for working with youth that Pastor Brent came to Cornerstone at the Lord's leading after serving as senior pastor for three years at the church he grew up in outside of Washington, D.C. He also served as youth pastor at the same church for five years previously. In addition, he also has nearly 15 years of experience in the world of professional sports administration and event management.

Aside from ministering to students, Pastor Brent also enjoys spending time with his wife Patti and their daughter and two sons. He also likes to relax by watching professional football (Redskins - and, yes, now the Steelers). On top of all that, he also fits competitive running into his schedule - which comes in handy when trying to keep up with fast-moving students.

Dave House

Middle School Director

For Dave House, our Middle School Ministry Director, it's all about the message that middle schoolers are hearing. "In today's society, young people keep hearing a message that tells them to do things their own way, but there's no mention of God's way. That's why I want to see Jesus make a difference in as many young lives as possible."

The Middle School years are the last of the impressionable years. Years when students want to start to experience their own faith and stop riding on the back of mom and dad's faith. Dave has a simple yet effective approach with our youth and that is to form strong relationships with them while showing what a difference Jesus can make in their lives during these difficult changing years.

Starting in youth ministry in 1994, Dave has seen a lot of changes in our youth culture in 13 years. Yet, there is still the same need... JESUS!

When Dave is not playing basketball, dodge ball or some other activity with our students, he loves spending time with his wife Leslie and their two daughters.
