Adult Discipleship, Small Groups, and Outreach

Did you know that Jesus started the first small groups ministry? Think about it...Jesus and His 12 apostles modeled what small groups should be. They grew in their relationships with one another. They also had the opportunity to mature in their spiritual growth and show others the way to finding God's love. Finally, they shared in the lives of each other...their burdens, their worries, their fears, their hopes, their dreams.

Today, small groups are still a powerful way for followers of Jesus to come together and build community within the church by making personal connections.

Why are small groups so powerful?

Growth

Small groups provide the perfect opportunity for you to . . .

  • Explore the Bible
  • Ask tough questions
  • Seek prayer and godly counsel
  • Grow in your relationship with Christ

Relationships

The Christian life should not take place in a vacuum, which is another reason why small groups are so powerful. In a personal and informal setting, you can build meaningful, lasting relationships and become more involved in the lives of other believers.

Outreach

Are you trying to think of the best way to invite family members, friends, or co-workers to church...especially those who want nothing to do with going to church? Try small groups! With small groups, you can reach out to those around you and help show them the way to God's love by inviting them to join you for a small group.

Unity

Through fellowship, worship, and prayer, you'll experience unity...and a renewed sense of power and purpose as you follow Jesus.

Prepared People

Finally, small groups prepare each of us for our greatest call as followers of Jesus Christ...to build Christ's body by using the gifts He has given to us (Ephesians 4:12). With small groups, you'll discover all that Christ wants you to be so that you can be a blessing to others and to God.

Just who are small groups for? Everyone! We have a place just for you in our small groups, no matter what your age or stage of life.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our small groups soon! To find out more about Small Groups at Cornerstone, please give us a call at 724.733.0070 or e-mail us at smallgroups@cornerstonelive.net.
