Spreading the Gospel Near and Far

Go into all the world and preach the
good news to all creation.

Mark 16:15

Talking to a neighbor about Jesus and inviting him to church...serving at a local food bank and offering to pray for those in need...flying to a foreign country on a mission trip and lending a hand at a local orphanage...what do all these have in common?

All of these are examples of fulfilling Christ's Great Commission to "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation" (Mark 16:15). Many times when we hear that verse, we automatically think of cross-cultural missionaries who travel and serve overseas. While overseas missionaries are certainly doing their part to fulfill the Great Commission, all of us can do the same wherever we serve the Lord.

Here at Cornerstone Ministries, we take seriously Christ's Great Commission by doing everything we can to see that His good news is spread near and far.

Reaching Out Locally

Food Pantry

Cornerstone Ministries teams with a local food bank to make sure individuals and families in our area don't go hungry throughout the year.

Community Outreaches

In addition to our Food Pantry Ministry, we also serve our community through other outreaches. Our annual Back-to-School Backpacks outreach provides local kids with a new backpack full of everything they'll need for the first day of school. We also partner with local Pregnancy Care Centers to help them raise funds for the support services they provide to pregnant women. In addition, we partner with other ministries and community organizations when specific needs arise.

Reaching Out Across the World

Cross-Cultural Missions

When it comes to reaching out to other cultures, Cornerstone has a long and rich history of taking an active part in global missions. Our global impact reaches into places like the Dominican Republic, central and northern Africa, India, the Philippines, Mexico, Thailand, and Turkey. We also support missionaries here in the United States, with one family ministering to Native Americans and another that works with churches to adopt unreached people groups. Speaking of unreached people groups, two of our missionary families are reaching out to people groups who have never heard of Jesus - the Gujjars of northern India and the Gumuz of Ethiopia.

A-Teams

At Cornerstone, we believe that our missionaries need a support network here at home. That's why our A-Teams exist. The "A" stands for "Advocate" (one that supports the interests of another), and our A-Teams are committed to supporting and caring for our missionaries in every way possible.

Short-Term Missions

Cornerstone also sends out teams of missionaries to serve on short-term missions, both here and abroad. Sometimes, these teams visit our cross-cultural missionaries and assist them in their work. Other times, teams are sent to help in a crisis situation, as when we sent a group of short-term missionaries to New York City after 9-11. Finally, we also send teams to places in America and abroad when we feel the Lord is calling us to go to a particular people and do our part to fulfill the Great Commission. In the recent past, we've sent missionaries to Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, and Cambodia.
